The 2019 Guangzhou Annual Investment Conference (GAIC) will be held from April 2nd to 3rd at Guangzhou’s Baiyun International Convention Center. It’s one of the major international events being hosted by Guangzhou Municipal People’s Government working to boost international cooperation and investment.
This year’s GAIC will focus on the opportunities brought by the construction of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and introduce the latest changes in Guangzhou’s business environment to its global counterparts. There will be 22 sub-forums held by various enterprises and the city’s different districts to shed light on their progress in fields such as information technology, AI, bio-technology and new energy.
Thus far, a record-high number of participants and more than 100 Fortune 500 enterprises have confirmed their attendance. Representatives from government departments, institutions and enterprises of cities in the Greater Bay Area will also attend the conference in groups for the first time to contribute to this year’s theme.
Guangzhou has been putting a great deal of effort into optimizing its business environment in recent years and has seen more than 300 Fortune 500 enterprises either invest or set up branches in the city. In the future, the city will further digitalize its administrative services and work to cut the costs of business registration, application for water and electricity connections and other overheads.
