The China International Children's Film Festival 2020, or 14th CICFF, a large-scale international exchange activity for the children's film industry, is already underway in Guangzhou between November 22nd and 30th.

During the festival, CICFF 2020 offers 34 children's films including 17 from China and 17 from abroad — aimed at kids from kindergarten to high school — at 33 cinemas across the city of Guangzhou.

Free tickets for each screening are available, including 50 for each of the 13 screenings which will take place on November 28th (Saturday) and 29th (Sunday) at the festival's main venue China Film South Cinema Liuhua branch (中影南方流花店). Please follow the official WeChat account of the festival "蓝孩绿孩" to get more information of the films and the schedule, and to make a reservation for free tickets (hotline: 13380002498).

According to Hou Keming, chairman of the CICFF 2020, many overseas old friends of CICFF failed to attend the festival in person due to the pandemic, but they have sent their best wishes via video and their latest children’s movies for screenings. For instance, Iran's filmmaker Majid Majidi's latest movie "Sun Children" will be screened at the Guangzhou Allstar Cinema (广州星汇电影城) on the evening of November 27th. "Sun Children" has been chosen as Iran’s national representative for the 93rd Academy Awards in the Best International Feature Film category.

The CICFF has been held since 1989, making it one of China's longest running film festivals. The event has been held in Beijing, Ningbo, Qingdao, Jiangyin, Guangzhou and many other places for the past 13 sessions. Commencing with the 13th session in 2017, the CICFF has been permanently held in Guangzhou, the flower city. This year's event also forms part of the Guangzhou Cultural Industry Fair 2020, which is also underway in Guangzhou between November 22nd and 25th.
