Guangzhou will open 11 mountains and tourist resorts including Baiyun Mountain, Yuexiu Park, Canton Tower and Huolu Mountain for the Double Ninth Festival which falls on October 25 this year.
The 9th day of September in the lunar calendar is the Double Nine Festival (Chong Yong Festival). This is a festival which Chinese people go hiking and show respect to the elderly. It’s also a time for family get-togethers, remembering one’s ancestors and the hardships they underwent. So, it could also be called China's Thanksgiving Day.

A reminder of the Ministry of Public Security health restrictions: there will be limits on visitor numbers to avoid gathering. While items such as fireworks, firecrackers, hydrogen balloons, incense candles and Kongming lanterns are forbidden.
