Update: 2020-09-10     Source: Newsgd.com

A documentary photo exhibition on the Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro is underway at the Guangzhou Library between August 28th and September 28th, in a celebration of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Cuba.

Guests pose for a group photo at the opening ceremony.

The exhibition displays 26 photos taken by several famous photographers, including Roberto Celi, Liborio Noir and Raul Corrales, over the course of more than five decades. There are portraits or close-ups of Fidel Castro in military uniform, and historic photos of Fidel Castro in the street or surrounded by the masses.

An opening ceremony was held at the Multi-Culture Library on the afternoon of August 28th, attended by guests from both China and Cuba.

Denisse Llamos Infante, Consul General of Cuba in Guangzhou, said that Fidel Castro announced that Cuba established diplomatic relations with China in September 1960 via the Havana Declarations, and she hopes the exhibition can show Fidel Castro's life of revolution and his spiritual wealth to the viewers.

Luo pointed out that Cuba strongly supported China during the pandemic, especially in February when China was hit hard by the virus.
