Recently, Guangzhou Municipal Education Bureau announced the first list of international education demonstration school in Guangzhou. A total of 20 schools were selected, covering 10 districts of the city.
Guangzhou Municipal Education Bureau invited international education experts from Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, and Chengdu to form a jury to inspect and defend the declared schools. In the end, 20 primary and secondary schools including Guangdong Guangya High School, Zhixin High School, Guangzhou Foreign Language School, and Overseas Chinese Foreign Language School was selected.
The establishment period of the international education demonstration school is 2 years. Two years later, an expert group will conduct an evaluation based on the evaluation indicators. After the results are reviewed and confirmed by the Municipal Education Bureau, schools that have reached the excellent level will be recognized as international education demonstration schools and announced to the public.
At present, Guangzhou is selecting the primary and secondary schools with outstanding international campus environment, rich experience in international exchanges and cooperation, and high-quality education into international education schools. From 2021 to 2023, 15 to 20 schools will be identified each year. By 2025, no less than 50 international education schools will be selected in Guangzhou.
